| Before the
turn of the last century, when America's first railroad companies were formed, fledgling
railroads issued stock certificates to help fund their new enterprise. Seeking to showcase their rolling stock,
railroad companies adorned the stock certificates with beautiful engravings of their
trains. Unfortunately, the railroads were so young they had no rolling stock. Thus
these early depictions were imaginative artists renditions.
Presented as a gift to Edward
Pfiester by a noted Railroad author, our logo is one such rendition. |
